James Roddy Blake was born on March 18th 1948 shortly after midnight. Had he be born a few short hours earlies his parents were going to name him Patrick James Blake in honor of St. Patricks Day.

This is the year Jim entered the United States Army. For a time he was stationed in Germany. His job in the Army was being a cook.
I am sure that many of his family and friends have herd many stories of his “Army days”
Here are two short stores that come to mind, in my father’s words. He told it some many times I can still remember the words.
“There was a time I had been working for over 24 hours straight. I was getting ready to get off my shift and the Staff Sergeant comes into the kitchen and says Blake we need 50 pies made. I said screw you and here’s your pies and threw them up against a wall. !”
“I came home for Christmas one year when I was in the Army and wanted to surprise my mom. She didn’t know I was coming home. I snuck in the back door and the dog was go nuts barking. My mom said “God the way your barking you swear Jimmy was home” and there I was” (That is why the song I’ll be home for Christmas always made him cry)

His son James Roddy Blake II was born.

Met my mother Judy in September of 1977. At first she didn't like him. She thought he was a little conceited. As he always said "I'm not conceited, I'm convinced"
九月 8, 1978
The day his daughter Jodi was born. Since he already had a boy he was hoping that I was a girl. Even told my mother if it’s a boy were sticking him back in.

Jim and Judy get married in Lawrence, Ma.
六月 28, 1995
His first grandchild was born, Quiana Alisia Blake from his son Little Jimmy

Purchased his first home in Salem NH
十二月 13, 1996
This is when he got is last dogs, Sheba and Princess. A month later he decided that he wanted to have more men in the house so he got another dog Rusty.

This was the day that he had lost his son Little Jimmy.
四月 25, 2003
His second grandchild was born. Emma Rose Davis. I always tell Emma she was such a blessing for Papa. He had been really depressed after the death of Jimmy. He lost his will to live. When Emma came into his life he had something to be happy about again. Emma and him were very close. As she got a little older, I mean like 2 years old, they would talk every night on the phone for at least an hour.

His third grandchild was born. McKayla Elizabeth
七月 23, 2008
His 25th Wedding Anniversary. He was too sick to leave the house so my mother and him sat in the living room with Papa Gino’s pizza and had a nice romantic dinner.

Passed away on September 22, 2008.
